From building warm, trusting relationships with infants, to providing toddlers and preschool children with endless opportunities to build self-confidence, independence, a strong sense of self-worth and the ability to build and maintain strong friendships that can last a lifetime, we ensure that our children develop the solid social-emotional skills they need to be successful.
At Lullaby Infant Club, we foster a love of reading and a familiarity with the alphabet at a developmentally appropriate level. We encourage the development of literacy skills by reading to children regularly, both individually and in groups, and by having books accessible throughout our day. We facilitate the growth of spoken language through speaking with the children and through actively encouraging them to speak with each other. We ask for their opinions, ask them questions and utilize descriptive language to help them begin to label items and feelings.
Fine motor skills, the ability to both identify and control small objects with one's hands, are critical for many tasks such as writing, drawing, picking up dropped Cheerios and finding pennies in your pocket. We support the development of fine motor skills through the years by providing toys for infants to grab, developmentally appropriate tools for toddlers to use and hands on experiences for toddlers and preschool children, such as drawing, painting, cutting, using stickers and playing with finger paint, sand and water.
From the time our infants begin to push themselves up, through their first steps, to their growing skill on the playground, we encourage our children to use their large muscles, building strength, balance, stamina and so much more! We provide daily opportunities to play both indoors and (weather permitting) outdoors.
The world is filled with opportunities for exploration and the development of strong cognitive skills. We provide our children with opportunities to learn about the natural world, to practice counting through play, to ask questions and to help figure out the answers. We strive to spark children's natural curiosity because we know that, in a world where you can Google any fact, our children need to learn HOW to think so that they can grow up to take on the world!
